Rise Kids: NextGen Leaders Connect Form (6th-8th Graders)

This application is for 6th-8th graders who would like to assist in a Rise Kids classroom. Applicants must be at least 11 years old.

Are you ready to jump into a Rise Kids classroom and disciple kids who are younger than you? We are so excited for you to join our team and to see how God will use you! The Bible tells us that children are a blessing from God. There is no question about God’s attitude toward children. Jesus made a point to welcome children to his side and He affirmed their worth by saying to his disciples, “let the little children come to me." In Rise Kids, we believe that every child who walks through our doors is a blessing and it is a great honor that we get to serve them and point them back to Jesus!

This is a serious commitment and serving position. The expectations are as follows:
•Be actively attending a youth group or Sunday church service each week.
•Arrive on time at appointed location.
•Wear a junior kids team t-shirt and name tag.
•Stay in your assigned position with your lead at all times.
•Come prepared to serve with a friendly face & good attitude.
•Stay on task and set an example for all kids and team members.

I will welcome all children with a smile and a kind voice. I will learn kids names and about their lives. I will help kids make friends and invite all kids to join in. I will be sensitive to those who may need extra help and speak positively to all.

I will be engaged.

When I am in a Rise Kids classroom, I will put my phone away and be present. I will participate with the kids and notice what is going on in the classroom. I will be excited about serving and do my role with enthusiasm.

I will be helpful.

I will take initiative, anticipate needs, and help prepare activities when I am in the classroom. I will not distract kids, but rather encourage them to stay on task and participate. I will ask Rise Kids team members how I can be helpful.

I will be responsible.

I will show up on time and attend the pre-service huddles. I will stay the whole time and help complete the cleaning list at the end of class time. I will let the classroom lead know if I cannot be at church because I know that they are counting on me!

I will be mature.

I will have self control and lead the kids around me with my actions. I will serve with a humble heart and grow in my relationship with Jesus.

I will be safe.

When I am in Rise Kids, I will abide by all of the safety protocols in the Rise Kids Team Member Manual. I will never be alone in a classroom with kids, use adult bathrooms when I am serving, and check tags before any kid exits the classroom.

I will be a leader.

I will act like a leader both in the classroom and out of it. I will lead others to Jesus with my words and actions. I will always do my best to shine Jesus’ light wherever I go!
